The course is delivered over 1 day in a face to face classroom-based environment, with trainer led scenarios and practical demonstration.
We run our courses as mixed mode delivery, which requires completion of a pre-course assessment on-line prior to attending a 1-day practical session. The workbook must be submitted electronically along with your LLN test, at least 48 hours prior to attending your practical training day. Please do not attempt your assessment until you have completed LLN testing. If you have not completed and submitted the electronic assessment prior, you will not be admitted to class. The reading and assessment will take between 4-8 hours to complete depending on your skill level.
-
We require candidates to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test prior to attending practical training.
You may be obtaining First Aid qualifications as an accompanying unit to broader study in a specific field. Be sure you check to make sure if any state or federal licensing requirements apply to your study field.
First Aid is about dealing with real life situations that may involve you and close family or friends. The training will expose you to conditions and scenarios that could be confronting to some. So we ask that you come prepared to face situations which can be challenging for some.
First Aid scenarios and practice can be physically demanding on the back and knees, especially while performing CPR, so please advise staff if you have physical restrictions. Also please wear comfortable non-restrictive clothing on the day.
We prefer candidates are at least 15 years of age to attend first aid at this level. Be aware for those under 18 years, a parent or guardian must accept responsibility for your enrollment and sign for you.
